Plantorama

Better customer experiences with a digital strategy

Plantorama is a family-owned Danish company with over 650 employees. With 13 large physical stores spread over Jutland, Zealand, and Funmen, Plantorama is the largest garden and animal chain of shops in Denmark.

With a well-thought-out digital strategy, Plantorama tries to create better customer experiences, starting from the parking lots with intelligent mobile solutions for the physical store with, among other things, Click and Collect.

Plantorama uses solutions from LS Retail, which is the most complete solution for the retail industry on the market. Through LS Retail, Plantorama can manage the business efficiently with Microsoft 365 Business Central as a base.

Store Manager for Plantorama in Tilst, Brian Ahler, tells:

- Plantorama in Tilst is a store where we really want to be known for the experiences and unique universe that we can create for customers. Our customers must be drawn to the store and discover the needs at home in the household. If our guests come with children, they can go to our play area, and parents can sit and enjoy a good cup of coffee in the meantime.

"IT has always been a big part of the strategy at Plantorama, and we do this to create some good experiences for our customers, so things just work when they visit us. Likewise, it is important to streamline and make things smooth for our employees."

An all-in-one solution from ls retail

CFO of Plantorama, Torben Castenskiold,  tells about the digital strategy:

- IT has always been a big part of the strategy at Plantorama, and we do this to create some good experiences for our customers so things just work when they visit us. Likewise, it is important to streamline and make things smooth for our employees.

- We have used the LS Central system for many years, and we are super happy with the collaboration with RelateIT. They help us sharpen our solutions, and they constantly challenge us to make better solutions for both employees and customers.

-  We use LS Central in our cafes and in our restaurants, so we actually have the same solution all the way through our stores. It means a lot to us that we have an integrated system where we have things together in the same suite. This means that there is an incredibly short way from when we have run things through the cash register until the warehouse gets updated to people who have bought a cup of coffee, and so on.

"Previously, we were used to being more in the back because it was out there we had our computers, and it was out there we could work. Now we have the IT solutions in the store, and in this way, we can be more visible to our customers."

Brian Ahler, store manager, Plantorama TIlst

Brian Ahler elaborates on the checkout line:

- It is important for us to have a stable and fast solution for our checkout line. Today, our checkout line runs on a Toshiba solution, where we do not have the speed problems that we had in the past. When I joined the company, we could do approximately DKK 100,000 plus VAT on each checkout, and now we can do somewhere between DKK 140-150,000. This is a significant difference that can be felt all around.

- In the past, we were used to being more in the back because it was out there we had our computers, and it was out there we could work. Now we have the IT solutions in the store, and in this way, we can be more visible to our customers.
